Surge the Tenrec has quickly become one of the most popular new characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, ever since her debut in the IDW Sonic comics.

Just like with most Sonic characters that get even a bit well-known, it’s no surprise that fans are asking the big question:

Is There an Official Surge the Tenrec Figure?

As of now, there is no official SEGA-licensed Surge the Tenrec action figure or collectible.

Companies like JAKKS Pacific, which regularly produce official Sonic toys, have not yet released a Surge figure.

So until official word comes from SEGA or JAKKS, there’s no guarantee that a Surge figure is in production…

In the mean time, creative fans have stepped in to fill the gap.

Fan-Made Surge the Tenrec Figure 3D Printing

As per usual, Sonic fans ask no permission when it comes to building what they want to see, and Surge fans, have come out with something cool themselves: A custom Surge 3D printable model.

These 3D models can be printed at home (or through a 3D printing service), then painted to match Surge’s design. This gives fans a lot of flexibility to create a one-of-a-kind Surge collectible.

(Keep in mind that these are unofficial fan-made creations, not official SEGA merchandise.)

Will There Be an Official Figure?

With Surge’s growing popularity in the Sonic fandom, it feels inevitable that SEGA or JAKKS Pacific will eventually release a figure.

JAKKS in particular has been expanding their Sonic line with more niche characters, so Surge could very well be on their radar.

Until then, collectors will need to rely on 3D printing, custom figures, or fan-made alternatives.
